Pattern:
Body:
- Round 1: Start with a magic ring. Chain 1 (does not count as a stitch). Make 6 single crochets (sc) into the ring. Tighten the ring and join with a slip stitch.
- Round 2: Chain 1, work 6 sc around. Join with a slip stitch.
- Round 3: Chain 1, 1 sc in the first stitch, increase (2 sc in the next stitch). Repeat - 3 times for a total of 9 stitches. Join.
- Round 4: Repeat Round 3 pattern (9 sc). Join.
- Round 5: Chain 1, (1 sc, increase) three times, last stitch 1 sc. Join.
- Round 6: Chain 1, (2 sc, increase) repeat around, ending with 1 sc. Join.
Continue increasing stitches per round following the established pattern until Round 9:

- Round 8: Chain 1, (4 sc, increase) repeat, end with 1 sc. Join.

Change Color (for the hedgehog's back):
- Round 10: Start with a new color by attaching it in the last stitch of Round 9. Perform 29 slip stitches around. Join.
- Round 11 and onwards: Follow the pattern instructions, increasing the number of sc between increases as established until you have a curved body shape.
Spikes (Popcorn Stitch Pattern):
- On the back body: Start making popcorn stitches by skipping a stitch, then creating a popcorn stitch in the next by making 5 double crochets in the same stitch, and pulling the loop through the first double crochet to form a popcorn.
- Continue making popcorn stitches as described in the pattern. Chain spaces between the popcorn stitches as instructed.
Final Rounds:
- Decreasing rounds: Begin to decrease stitches in the specified pattern while still incorporating the popcorn stitches for the back texture.
- Eyes and Nose: Using a yarn needle and thin brown yarn, sew the nose and eyes onto the face of the hedgehog.
- Finishing: Fill your hedgehog amigurumi with stuffing before closing the last round. Sew the opening closed.
